While membership in the ATCMNY is unrestricted as to residence, the Club’s primary purpose is to be representative of the breeders and exhibitors in its immediate area. The ATCMNY’s official AKC territory includes the five boroughs of New York City (Manhattan, the Bronx, Brooklyn, Queens, and Staten Island); Nassau and Suffolk Counties (i.e. all of Long Island); Westchester and Rockland Counties in New York and Bergin County in New Jersey. Applicants must have attended at least one Club meeting or function prior to being considered for election to membership.
Applications for membership must carry the endorsement of two ATCMNY members in good standing and who are not related to the applicant(s) or to each other. Applicants who are not acquainted with two Club members may submit the name of one Club member in good standing and one personal reference or two personal references.
Regular (Individual) Membership is open to all persons eighteen years of age and older who are in good standing with The American Kennel Club and who subscribe to the purposes of the Club as stated in the ATCMNY Constitution.
Family (Household) Membership is limited to two individuals eighteen years of age and older, and their minor children over ten and under eighteen years of age, all of whom reside in the same household and all of whom are in good standing with The American Kennel Club and subscribe to the purposes of the Club as stated in the ATCMNY Constitution. Each adult is entitled to one vote and to hold office. Minor children may not vote or hold office, but may serve on committees and are allowed all other privileges of regular membership. Upon reaching their eighteenth birthday, minor children may automatically convert to Regular membership.
Junior Memberships are available to persons over ten and less than eighteen years of age who are in good standing with The American Kennel Club and who subscribe to the purposes of the Club as stated in the ATCMNY Constitution. Junior members may not vote or hold office, but may serve on committees and are allowed all other privileges of regular membership. Junior members, upon reaching their eighteenth birthday, automatically convert to Regular membership.
Dues:
The membership year runs from February 1st through January 31st. Annual dues amounts are not pro-rated for new members or for persons whose membership status changes, for any reason, during the year.
– Regular (Individual) Membership dues are $25 per year.
– Family (Household) Memberships are $35 per year.
– Junior membership dues are $6 per year.
Applications, along with a check made payable to “ATCMNY” for the current year’s dues should be submitted to the club Secretary. Applications will be considered at the first meeting of the Board of Directors following receipt.
